Kristina Gauthier-Landry, And When We Get to the End, We’ll Take Root.

Kristina Gauthier-Landry takes her images to the lively rhythm of a journey to the farthest reaches.

There is the cautious return to the path of origins, along the coast, where the houses are sulking. Poetry then leads to childhood, becomes greedy, blueberries in jam, a hare’s heart under the tooth. Here, the available happinesses pile up on everything we don’t talk about, fathers with a horizon, mothers with restless throats. And When we Get to The End, we’ll Take Root. says the journey towards a reconciliation with a territory, this millennial lichen in which woman and daughter are going to be reborn, hand in hand, says this hostile and fertile north, made of large spaces and small things. Of frozen fingers and warm bread. And above all, silence.
